Zeiss says its Comet L3D 2 compact 3D sensor line features sensor technology and project-oriented software to enable easy and reliable 3D data capture. According to the company, the user has greater scope to perform a multitude of measuring tasks thanks to the flexibility of the system and fast warmup mode. Industrial applications include inspection of tooling and molds, and design, rapid manufacturing and reverse engineering.
With a working distance ranging from 45 to 500 mm, the sensor is said to support problem-free operation, even in cramped conditions. The high light intensity and fast camera (with a 2448 × 2050-pixel array) enable flexibility to accommodate the application site, the company says. The sensor is said to deliver precise 3D data even in difficult ambient conditions and automatically recognize changes in vibration and exposure. In addition, the light yield and the high measuring speed ensure reliable data capture on different object surfaces, the company says. Comet models are available with 1M, 2M, 5M, 8M and 16M pixel arrays.
Available options include rotary tables, tripods and a variety of computers. The simple on-site calibration enables changing the measuring field by swapping the lenses, according to the company. The Zeiss colin3D high-performance software platform also enables efficient and goal-oriented workflow during the entire measuring process.
