Sumitomo Electric Carbide’s WFX series features a 90-degree lead angle to optimize shoulder milling. The high-accuracy cutter is designed to increase part squareness. A convex cutting edge increases insert toughness, and an integrated wiper improves surface finish, the company says.
The series includes coarse- and fine-pitch cutter bodies ranging from 2" to 8" in diameter, and super-fine-pitch versions ranging from 2" to 5" in diameter. Grades ACP200, ACP300 and ACK300 feature a multi-layer Super ZX coating designed to improve wear, fracture, and adhesion resistance while increasing tool life.
