Angle Heads Offer Flexibility In Machining

According to distributor Tapmatic, OMG angle heads are designed to perform operations that horizontal or vertical machines can only carry out with additional operations. By increasing the machine flexibility and, in some cases, acting as a real and true supplementary axis, they can be considered as an additional tool fitted to the machine.   Suitable for traditional machine tools, machining centers with automatic tool change and turning centers with live tooling, the heads range from 4.5 kg to 150 kg. The range of angle heads is fixed or variable with out-feed to ISO50 DIN2079; and one or two spindles feature internal coolant supply for a low- and high-pressure option. More than 50 different models are available, each adaptable to various types of machines. Other features include an anti-rotation pin for automatic or manual tool change, with a power feed unit for fixed assembly if the machine is dedicated to one workpiece. A range of angle heads is also available with VDI coupling. Among the accessories are anti-rotation devices with three supporting points to ensure strength during heavy-duty operations.
