CGTech’s Vericut 7.1 CNC machine simulation and optimization software enables users to reduce scrap loss and rework by eliminating manual prove-out of NC programs. The program also optimizes NC programs to save time and produce a higher-quality surface finish, the company says. The software simulates virtually all types of CNC machine tools, including those from Mori Seiki, Mazak, Makino, Matsuura, Hermle, DMG, DIXI and Chiron. The software runs stand-alone, but can also be integrated with CAM systems such as Catia V5, NX, Pro/E, MasterCAM, EdgeCAM, hyperMILL and GibbsCAM.
Enhancements in the latest version are designed to reduce the time required for manufacturing engineers to develop, analyze, inspect and document the CNC programming and machining process. Other improved capabilities include user interaction, simulation, analysis, cutting tool creation and CAD/CAM integration. According to the company, enhancements were driven by nearly 200 customer requests.
The software records and displays cutting conditions. It also features multiple turning orientations; specialty cutting methods; and improved simulations of complex subroutines and advanced CNC control features. Creating reports has also been simplified, the company says. With the report enhancements, users can preview and customize their own reports to include features such as pictures in tables, links to files and links to websites.
