The NTV158 series of vertical machining centers from YCM Americas is designed for moldmakers and job shops. The machining center offers a high rapid feed rate with large Y axis. The Z-axis double-ballscrew drive system and roller-type guideways on all axes ensure accuracy at high feed rates, the company says.
The machining center features a T-base structure with overhang-free table movement to support heavy loads. The 10,000-rpm spindle ensures inline direct transmission and is said to maximize spindle and tool life under harsh conditions. A high-speed axial movement with roller-type guideways provides durability and rigidity. Double-nut high-precision Tsubaki ballscrews are directly driven by a servomotor to eliminate backlash and vibration.
The VMC includes a YCM control by FANUC with high-performance AC digital servo and spindle drives with precise absolute-positioning encoders.
