The new Roku-Roku HC-658 high speed, precision vertical machining center (VMC) combines machining of mold steels and a multipurpose design that is said to provide graphite machining capability. The VMC is the standard in machine quality and rigidity through its one-piece box-style cast base and mono-block column and crossbeam support. With its speed range of 200 through 32,000 rpm, the machine is useful for high speed milling, which can be done with dry or semi-dry (oil mist) systems, drilling and tapping applications.
The VMC also features large diameter short pitch ballscrews, which are said to enhance servo gain. Greater cutter stability is achieved by minimizing the distance between the X-axis guide surface and spindle center, the company says. The new PC III functions use a 64-bit RISC processor and AI Nano HPCC, which allows the machine to process and execute program codes quickly. Four large diameter ceramic grease-packed bearings provide longer life for the high speed cartridge-type spindle. Dual balance cylinders are said to reduce ballscrew and servomotor loads, which provide smooth motion of the Z axis.
