Sandvik Coromant’s range of integrated toolholders is designed for compatibility with CoroMill 316 exchangeable-head (EH) tools. The holders are said to improve torque transmission and reduce runout compared to cylindrical shanks clamped in a precision chuck with comparable tool overhang. Additionally, integrated holders with an EH coupling also provide shorter total programming length and higher stability when all machining variables are the same.
 
Designed for modular tooling possibilities, the holders can be used in a variety of tooling combinations to suit applications and machine tools using a smaller inventory of standard items. Setup times are also reduced because tool length adjustment is kept to a minimum.
