Kyocera SGS Precision Tools (KSPT) has expanded the Series 51 T-Carb series of tools to include a ball end configuration. The T-Carb lineup features specialized engineering and design specific to high speed trochoidal and peel milling. According to the company, the T-Carb’s six-flute eccentric relief design provides strength and enhanced contact at high speeds with excellent finish results. The ball end expansion now provides Series 51 tools 3D contouring and finishing capabilities in a variety of materials.
The six-flute design is designed to enable higher feed rates at reduced tool loads. Due to its variable pitch geometry, the T-Carb excels in operations that call for aggressive roughing and finishing, which is meant to increase cycle times and lower costs. The series is offered in a variety of length, neck and end configuration options and is coated with Ti-Namite-X for thermal barrier protection.
