OGP, a division of Quality Vision International, introduces its TeleStar Probe high-resolution surface profiling sensor for OGP multisensory dimensional measurement systems. The probe is a self-contained, off-axis, partial-coherence, interferometric-range sensor for surface contour measurement. Measured point resolution in the sub-micron range is said to provide excellent performance on both specular and light-scattering diffuse surfaces.
The probe features a 25-mm constant working distance, and its shallow return angle enables measurement deep inside bores and blind holes. The probe is designed to scan as many as 500 data points per second with 1.0-micron accuracy and 0.1-micron repeatability. Mounted in a mechanical deployment mechanism, the probe retracts out of the way when not in use.
