Schunk’s Tendo Platinum toolholder for milling, drilling and reaming is made using a single-cycle brazing and hardening process, enabling rigid and durable tool clamping. The Tendo remains balanced at speeds ranging to 25,000 rpm, the company says. With vibration damping and run-out accuracy of less than 0.003 mm (0.0001") at 2.5 times clamping diameter, the holder reduces wear and damage to the spindle and cutting tool.
The toolholder is available in three lengths with two precision-ground tapers. CAT40 tapers are available in lengths of 2.5", 4" and 6"; CAT50 tapers are available in lengths of 81 mm, 4" and 6". Schunk also offers direct clamping in both metric and inch sizes.
