Schwanog’s WSI toolholding system is designed for ID grooving of complex contours, turning or both, which enables users to reduce unit costs. The toolholders carry coolant through the feature and can be applied for IDs greater than 2 mm. Lengths of ID plunge carbide inserts can be adjusted in the Z axis through a set screw, providing rigidity and functionality during setup and tool change-over. The repeatability of the system is less than 0.02 mm.
