Edward Padgett of Tulsa, Oklahoma-based Padgett Machine talks about his shop’s use of five-axis machining and feature-based programming with FeatureCAM sofware. His shop’s trunnion-type Haas VF-6/40TR machining center has proven to be valuable not just for five-axis machining of contoured parts, but also 3+2 machining of relatively simple parts.
