DMG Mori Seiki’s fourth-generation DMU 80 P duoBlock five-axis machining center is designed for increased performance, precision and efficiency. The machining center also features increased rigidity for maximum machining power, and additional cooling measures for increased accuracy, long-term precision and positioning accuracy ranging to 5 micronmeters. A powerMaster 1000 motor spindle offers 1,000 Nm and 77 kW of power.
A new wheel magazine accommodates as many as 363 tools with tool-change time of 0.5 sec., the company says. It also is possible to set up during machining for improved flexibility and productivity. A new B axis offers a 250-degree swivel angle for flexible and fast machining. Intelligent on-demand aggregates reduce energy consumption. The machine is available with a Siemens 840D solutionline Operate 4.5 or Heidenhain TNC 640 control. The company’s CELOS technology and Ergoline 21.5" controls will be available on future editions.
