Heidenhain is highlighting the TNC7 five-axis motion control, TD 110 tool breakage detector, VT 121/122 vision systems and MILLPWR entry level CNC control — all designed to enhance machining accuracy and streamline workflows. Also, the droPWR iOS app further modernizes shop operations by providing digital readout functionality at users’ fingertips.
The TNC7 offers intuitive, task-focused operation with multitouch controls. It supports milling, turning and grinding to deliver ultrafast block processing (0.5 m/s) for improved surface quality and precision. Smart probing functions and model-aided setup helps with 3D part setup and blending of parting lines.
The VT 121 and VT 122 vision systems provide high-precision tool measurement with dual-camera technology and multiple lighting options. The VT 122 visually inspects any single flute or insert of the cutting tool, ensuring tool quality before the final finish cut.
The TD 110’s inductive, noncontact sensing enables rapid tool breakage detection — without using a laser or tool setter. The inspection is done at high traverse speeds to provide process reliability and help avoid costly downtime.
For knee and bed mills, the MILLPWRG2 control is said to offer an affordable CNC upgrade with both digital readout and programmable control functionalities. The droPWR iOS app enables shops to transform iPads into full-function DROs for more flexibility on the shop floor.
