KME CNC’s standard five-axis tombstone for horizontal machining centers is equipped with four platters and can be customized to include as many as 12 platters. The tombstone enables machining multiple five-axis workpieces in a single setup, and it uses harmonic drive technology to provide ±5 arcseconds repeatability and limit backlash. Each five-axis platter can be operated independently or simultaneously. Tools can be shared across all the workpieces being held, minimizing tool changes.
