The Sharp Industries SVX-500 vertical machining center enables true five-sided and simultaneous five-axis machining. The VMC is equipped with a high-precision spindle capable of delivering 30 hp and 15,000 rpm. The spindle is mounted on high-precision ceramic bearings capable of providing 87 foot-pounds (118 Nm) of torque. X-, Y- and Z-axis travels measure 23" × 31.8" × 19.7". The machining center is constructed with a box-in-box design with ribs throughout to ensure accuracy and rigidity and accommodates workpieces weighing as much as 770 lbs (350 kg). It can be equipped with a Siemens control or FANUC’s 31-B5 CNC. Accessories include a pull-out coolant tank, flood coolant, fluorescent worklight and automatic lubrication system.
