YMT will showcase two FMC systems from Quaser designed for lights-out automation. The first FMC uses a high-speed HX-504 HMC with an eight-pallet shuttle-type system. The machine features 19.7" × 19.7" pallets, 240-tool automatic tool changer, full fourth axis, 15,000-rpm spindle and 1,000-psi. coolant-through-spindle capability. The 40-hp spindle and 2,360-ipm rapid traverse rate are designed to increase cutting capability and machining efficiency, the company says.
The second FMC is the MF-500U, a five-axis machining center with 28-pallet system designed for machining complicated medical and aerospace parts that require different fixtures and setups. An additional model includes a 40-pallet FMC and 120-tool capacity that enables the user to machine continuously without interruption.
