Tsugami BE swiss-type turning machines—12 mm and 18 mm models—are capable of simultaneous operation of the main and subspindle. They feature 12,000-rpm and 10,000 rpm main spindles (respectively), and the BE 12 and BE 18 feature the company’s gang slide design for the shortening chip-to-chip time.
A Fanuc 32i-A 2-path control, A.C. drives, five controlled axes and 6 3/8” of stroke are among the products’ standard features. The sliding headstock and axes move on preloaded, lubricated linear roller ways to minimize stick slip and improve response. Both main and sub spindles are liquid-cooled to promote thermal stability.
