Taiyo Koki, a DMG MORI company, announces the U.S. debut of the CVG series vertical universal cylindrical grinder with pallet changer. Available in part-swing diameter sizes of 25.5", 37.5" and 53", the machine can grind the outer diameter, inner diameter and faces in one-part chucking with machine roundness accuracy of better than 0.00004". Holroyd Precision’s CS700E tool grinding center is designed to grind high-accuracy profile forms on finish-milling cutters as large as 700 mm in diameter. The machine is said to enable manufacturers of larger helical components to achieve accuracy and repeatability by giving them control of all aspects of the cutting tools they use. It produces high-accuracy profile forms on a range of materials, from high speed steel to carbide and cermet finish machining systems. Read more.

The universal five-axis Dia-2200-Mini CNC spark grinding machine from Lach Diamond is designed for the automatic sharpening of diamond tools and saw blades with diameters as wide as 530 mm. The machine is capable of sharpening new or servicing old diamond end mills and jointing cutters both with and without axis angles. It is also effective on diamond-scoring saws and saw blades of all tooth types. Star Cutter’s NTG 6RL five-axis tool and cutter grinding machine, based on NUM’s Flexium+ CNC platform, automates the high-speed production and reconditioning of complex cutting tools. The grinding machine handles fluting, tertiary grinding, relief grinding and automated wheel changing. The NUMDrive X modules accommodate third-party linear and direct-drive torque motors as well as high-frequency grinding spindle motors. United Grinding Group has redesigned the Walter Helitronic Power 400 grinding machine and Power Diamond 400 grinding and eroding machine. The two machines offer 35 percent more workpiece space with the capability to grind tools as long as 380 mm (14.96"). They also feature remodeled machine beds with enhanced rigidity for greater vibration damping for improved part surface finishes and precision. They include a worm drive for the C axis, an optional torque motor, and pneumatically driven steady rests and tailstocks from the Helitronic Vision series.
