Servo Products Co.’s Servo Type 350X power feed features re-engineered internal components to increase safety while improving reliability and performance.
The power feed’s features:
- Brushless DC motor (BLDC) that provides greater efficiency and increased reliability.
- The ability to produce a minimum of 350 inch/pounds of continuous torque as low as 0.3 inches/minute feed rate, resulting in one power feed that can be used on all three axes.
- Extremely accurate speed regulation under varying load conditions, as well as dynamic braking for quick stops.
- Continual monitoring of limit switches/E-Stop status, motor speed, voltage and current using microprocessor technology.
- Dual-voltage capabilities with an internal connector position change on the circuit board, plus a wide input voltage range (90-145 vac) and high voltage selection (195-250 vac), resulting in stable operation during power fluctuations.
- 75% less current usage under the same operating conditions than the present industry-standard, brushed-DC motor designs.
- Drive gear changed from Delrin to hard coat anodized 7075 aluminum for reliability and the ability to handle the high torque loads. Safety overcurrent protection has been added to the motor/gear drive circuit, eliminating stripped gears.
- The ability to easily convert the unit from a table feed to a knee feed.
- An Emergency Stop button.
- The limit switches no longer have line voltage (115 vac) through them, they now have 5 vdc, which is much safer in case of cable damage or cuts. According to the company, there is no risk of electrical shock.
- Safety logic circuitry to prevent accidental operation after an emergency stop or during power-up. The power feed will not operate after the E-Stop is released if the direction handle is either in the left or right position. The direction handle must be returned to the neutral or off position, then the status LED will turn from red to blue letting the user know they can operate the power feed either right or left direction.
The RAPID button incorporates a dual-color LED that functions as a status indicator. The Servo Type 350X power feed comes backed by a two-year warranty.
