The Trak DPM SX5 bed mill with the ProtoTrak SMX control may be operated manually or as a two- or three-axis CNC. The solid ram moves up and down for Z-axis operation, providing mass behind heavy cuts. The bed mill is equipped with a mechanical vari-speed and can be upgraded with an electronic head that offers programmable spindle speeds and tapping ability. Precision-ground ballscrews are installed in the table, saddle and ram. The mill wide way surfaces are hardened and ground and slideways are Turcite coated.
