Greenleaf Corp.’s Xsytin-1 is a phase-toughened ceramic insert grade developed to complement the company’s ceramic insert cutting tools. The grade is engineered for milling, turning and grooving difficult materials at high feed rates with high surface footage.
Xsytin-1 can be used for interrupted cuts, removal of scale, roughing, semi-finish and finish cuts in heat-resistant superalloy materials, cast irons, nodular irons, ductile irons, steel alloys and stainless steels, says Greenleaf. The structure of the phase-toughened ceramic is said to exhibit high wear resistance and thermal shock resistance.
