Northfield Precision Instrument Corp. offers an internal-grip collet chuck originally designed to help a customer clamp the internal diameter of valve balls. The dead-length collet features a removable split part stop that is made of two pieces and hinged. When used in a valve ball grinder, the chuck is capable of locating and stopping a 6"-diameter ball axially with the spacer placed between the ball and chuck. The part stop is removable to provide access around the top and bottom of the ball for the grinding wheel.
