Okuma’s MA-12500H horizontal machining center is well-suited for large-part aerospace machining in aluminum alloys, cast iron and difficult-to-machine materials. The HMC is built on an integral bed and base with reinforcing ribs for increased stability and load-carrying capacity, and incorporates Okuma’s Thermo-Friendly Concept for greater thermal stability and accuracy. The machining center accommodates parts ranging to 78.72" in diameter and 62.99" high, and weighing as much as 10,141 lbs.
The X-, Y- and Z-axis travels measure 86.61" × 62.99" × 64.96", and rapid traverse rates are 1,653 ipm in the X, Y and Z axes. The HMC is equipped with a 0.001-degree B-axis rotary table and a parallel-type two-pallet automatic pallet changer with 49.21 in.2 pallets. It also is equipped with a 50-taper, 50/60-hp spindle providing 6,000 rpm. A 12,000-rpm wide-range spindle or 4,500-rpm heavy-duty spindle also are available. The automatic toolchanger accommodates 81 tools, with a 171-tool matrix available as an option.
