Jet Edge’s 100-hp (75-kw), X-Stream xP90-100 waterjet intensifier pump is capable of producing 90 ksi (6,200-bar) and supports 75-ksi (5,200-bar) continuous operating pressure. The pump can produce flow rates ranging to 1.45 gpm (5.49 L/m) and supports an orifice as large as 0.017" (0.43 mm). Fittings and tubing are rated for 100 ksi (6,900 bar). The pump is also available in a 5-hp (37-kW) model.
According to Jet Edge, the X-Stream pump achieves faster cutting speeds and reduces operating costs compared to traditional 60-ksi (4,100-bar) waterjet pumps, enabling users to increase productivity and reduce part costs. The waterjet intensifier pump produces as much as 50 percent more pressure than a traditional pump, enabling a 40 to 50 percent increase in productivity, the company says. Additionally, the pump’s 75-ksi (5,200-bar) operating pressure uses as much as 30 percent less water, 30 percent less power and 50 percent less abrasive.
