Iscar’s Helido S890 FSN right-hand indexable face mills feature 88-degree cutting edge angles (2-degree lead) with eight helical cutting edges that can be used for depths of cut ranging to 9 mm. High-efficiency face milling can range from roughing to semi-finishing applications, primarily on cast iron and steel components.
The face mills are available in diameters ranging from 50 to 160 mm in coarse and fine-pitch configurations. The cutter bodies feature coolant holes directed to the insert cutting edges for increased cooling efficiency. The inserts also feature an advanced cutting geometry with a positive rake angle to ensure smooth milling with soft entry to and exit from material. They are produced mainly from Iscar Sumo Tec carbide grades, which are designed for improved performance and tool life.
The Helido S890 FSN face mills are well-suited for general milling, particularly in applications that require machining close to shoulders or fixture constraints, the company says. The tools’ 88-degree cutting edge angle enables face milling to be performed very close to the sidewall.
