showcases its modular quick-change head system specifically designed for Swiss-type machines. This system is said to cater to a variety of applications, including turning, grooving, parting and threading. The NeoSwiss modular quick-change system’s clamping mechanism provides high repeatability, maintaining a position accuracy of ±0.0008" during head replacements.
The rotary wedge mechanism enhances the clamping force between the head and the shank, which boosts machining stability. This stability reduces harmonics, enabling users to operate at higher parameters while extending tool life, leading to increased productivity.
Additionally, the NeoSwiss system accommodates both X- and Y-axis heads on the same shank. According to Iscar, this can improve surface quality by reducing tool bending and vibration under high machining conditions as well as providing improved chip control.
Additionally, Iscar’s tools feature coolant ports with 2,000-psi capacity, enhancing chip control and extending tool life. The use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) technology optimizes coolant flow, providing consistent performance while minimizing pressure drops.
