The Micromag general-purpose magnetic filter from Eclipse Tools provides standard filtration for smaller wash stations in non-chemical environments. The compact filter is designed to remove ferrous contamination from all industrial fluids, while abrasives and non-magnetic material can be removed by entrapment. According to Eclipse, the filter increases fluid life and requires no consumables and little maintenance, except periodic cleaning.
 
Contaminated fluid enters the inlet port and is dispersed and slowed by tapered radial flow channels. Then, the fluid passes up the outside of the centrally mounted rare earth magnetic core, which attracts and retains contamination particles. The filtered fluid then flows through return slots at the top of the magnetic core and down through the center to exit through the outlet port.
 
Three standard models are available: the MM5/1.0 with a flow rate of 18 gpm (70 L/min.); the MM10/1.0 with a flow rate of 26 gpm (100 L/min.); and the MM20/1.5 with a flow rate of 40 gpm (150 L/min.). The units are capable of holding 2.2 lbs (1 kg), 4.4 lbs (2 kg) and 8.8 lbs (4 kg) of contamination, respectively. All three models offer a maximum operating pressure of 174 psi (12 bar). The company also offers the Micromag HP for high-pressure applications.
