Air-O-Filter has developed a performance oil mist air cleaner in cooperation with Holland Co. with a filtering efficiency ranging from 99.97 to 99.99 percent. The product is designed to target PM 2.5 particles (particulate dust as small as 2.5 microns in diameter), which can be hazardous to operators’ health. The cost-effective filter handles oil mist, smoke and haze to purify the air.
The pre-filter is made of woven stainless steel screen and high-efficiency fiberglass to filter water/oil mist with multi-layer filtration. The flying-saucer structure, 70-degree filter and eight-blade disc can separate oil mist, smoke, haze and toxic aerosols, as well as condense larger particles into oil drops for recycling. Various after-filters can filter particles ranging from 0.01 to 0.5 microns in diameter.
This oil mist collector’s advanced filtering system and sealed gasifier is an efficient solution for those seeking to maintain a clean working environment, the company says. Unlike other models using centrifuge or electrostatic techniques, Air-O-Filter’s cone-shaped HEPA UFO filter technology can capture 99.97 percent of aerosols produced under the maximum airflow during machining.
Additionally, a unique oil mist compound filter is also installed on the AM sealed gasifier using the HEPA progressive filtering method. This method is capable of collecting formaldehyde, TVOC and benzene, as well as other harmful chemicals and odd smells.
The company says its oil mist filtering products are useful with a variety of machine tools including CNC lathes and machining centers, presses, grinders, broaching machines, transfer machines and gundrills.
