Studer鈥檚 S33 universal cylindrical grinding machine said to provide low cost per part during external and internal cylindrical grinding of small and medium-sized workpieces in a single clamping. The machine is designed for both single-part and large-series production runs and is suited for toolmakers in job shops and manufacturers.
The updated machine features a new grinding head with two motor spindles for external grinding, and an internal grinding unit that allows more workpiece geometries to be ground in a single clamping. Three grinding wheels ensure quick, individual machining of workpieces. Also, the machine is available with a CNC and integrated PC, which enable the use of the StuderWIN operator interface. The StuderGrind programming software modules can also be installed directly on the control system.
According to the company, the machine features a unique arrangement of the motor spindles and simple change-over from grinding between centers to live-spindle grinding. Other features include a swiveling machine table, an optional C axis for form and thread grinding, a Granitan machine bed and various accessories.
