The high-performance NXV1680A vertical machining center from YCM offers extended travels and high rigidity for use in a range of industries. The VMC is equipped with a BBT-40 taper (dual-face contact), 40-hp spindle offering 12,000 rpm. A 15,000-rpm spindle is available as an option. YCM’s isolated direct-drive (IDD) plus spindle includes a tool unclamping cushion to extend spindle bearing life. The spindle is equipped with ceramic bearings providing low inertia mass, low centrifugal force and high rigidity for a low thermal deformation coefficient. High-precision helical springs enable high dynamic balance and low vibration.
The VMC is available with a 24-, 30- or 60-station automatic toolchanger that is inverter controlled and equipped with an absolute encoder for high stability. A five-auger chip-evacuation system offers four augers along the Y axis and one along the X axis for efficient chip removal. The machine is designed for heavy-duty cutting with Meehanite castings, THK roller guideways on all three axes, six slider blocks on the X axis and four guideways on the Y axis. An oversized Z-axis ballscrew and motor eliminate the need for a counterweight system and enable precise finishes, YCM says.
