The MTConnect Institute will host [MC]2 2013 MTConnect: Connecting Manufacturing Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio at the Hyatt Regency April 10 through 12, 2013.
According to organizers, the conference is a must-attend for anyone who wants to understand how the communications standard is changing manufacturing. MTConnect is a set of open, royalty-free standards intended to foster greater interoperability between controls, devices and software applications by publishing data over networks and using the Internet Protocol. It is said to be a basic first step in linking shop floor technologies and moving toward the goal of seamless manufacturing operations through plug-and-play connectivity between different systems.
This year's event is the second MTConnect Conference. Organizers say they hope to build on the success of first, which occurred in November 2011 and attracted 175 attendees and 26 exhibitors, although this year's event will place greater emphasis on shop owners and plant managers.
