Norton Abrasives, a brand of Saint-Gobain, offers its Vitrium3 bonded abrasive products, featuring a bond chemistry that promotes grain adhesion for improved versatility across a range of applications. The stronger bond construction improves form and corner holding for improved tolerances and part quality as well as reduced dressing time and wear on equipment, even at fast wheel speeds. A lower bond-to-abrasive ratio enables increased abrasive grain exposure, benefitting cut rate while reducing burn, power consumption and grinding forces. In addition, increased porosity improves coolant flow and chip clearance to eliminate workpiece damage on tough-to-grind materials such as high nickel alloys, tool steels and chrome. The Vitrium3 technology is available on all Norton abrasive grains.
