DiaGrind 535-5 grinding oil from Oelheld is produced from high-purity hydro-crack hydrocarbons with low aromatic content, and is free of chlorine and heavy metals. The oil offers desirable viscosity properties over a range of temperatures and has a low misting tendency, the company says. Heavy-duty pressure additives improve performance, while surface active agents offer improved finish, as well as cooling and lubricating properties. The additives are said to be physiologically safe and to promote aging stability. The oil is low-foaming with low viscosity for improved flushing and cooling properties. With tangential forces, workpiece temperature and grinding wheel wear are reduced as well. The oil is suitable for high-speed grinding and honing operations such as thread and groove grinding, nonferrous metalwork and highly alloyed chrome-nickel steel.
